BTS, BLACKPINK and More Shine on New Billboard Charts

Billboard recently announced the launch of two brand new charts – the Global 200 and the Global 200 (Excl. US). Both these charts take into account streaming data from more than 200 territories around the world. And so, these chart rankings provide a more comprehensive view of the “most popular songs on the planet”.

The Billboard Global 200 Winners

The new, first-time charts were launched earlier this week and saw familiar faces and surprising ones too. Occupying the top spot on the Billboard Global 200 is Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s mammoth release: ‘WAP’. The track reigns supreme as the most streamed song this week with 100.9 million streams.

Coming in at a close second is BTS with their mega hit all-English single, ‘Dynamite’. Further, these rankings also mirror the week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart. Other appearances on the chart include Lil Durk and Drake’s ‘Laugh Now Cry Later’ at No. 3, Maluma’s Spanish-language ‘Hawai’ at No. 4 and, and BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez’s ‘Ice Cream’ at No. 8.

The Billboard Global 200 (Excl. US)

In addition, the Billboard Global 200 (Excl. US) sees Maluma’s ‘Hawai’ reigning supreme, scoring No. 1 this week. In runner-up yet again is BTS’ ‘Dynamite’ standing steady at No. 2. Cardi B’s ‘WAP ‘ featuring Megan Thee Stallion rides in at No. 3 on this chart. Further, South Korea makes its second appearance on the chart as BLACKPINK’s ‘Ice Cream’ featuring Selena Gomez comes in hot at No. 6.

These new charts join other weekly Billboard markers like the Hot 100, the 200 Albums Chart, Digital Song Sales chart, and more.
