South Korean boy group and global sensations, BTS, are back on a record-making streak, boasting some impressive feats.

The septet began the week strong when their Japanese single, “Stay Gold’, reached No. 1 in 98 countries on iTunes at the time of release. As BTS continue to gear up for their upcoming Japanese album, “Map of the Soul: The Journey”, and subsequent promotions, they’re adding multiple feathers to their cap of achievements.

According to media reports, BTS have officially become the most subscribed to boy group on YouTube, surpassing One Direction. Their channel – ‘BANGTANTV’ – has amassed 31.5 million subscribers and counting.

This record is even more noteworthy when the content of the channel is taken into account. BANGTANTV is home only to vlogs and short format videos of the members of BTS. None of their official music content is streamed through that page.

The morning brought more exciting news for the group’s fandom – ARMY. Celebration flooded Twitter feeds as news broke that the music video for the group’s 2016 hit, “Save Me”, hit 500 million views on YouTube, making it their 9th video to do so.

ARMY occupied trends on Twitter, sharing their joy at the new record. Many have shared their personal experiences with the song and its video.

In addition to raking in large numbers, BTS have also been awarded the 2020 UNICEF Award for their massive “Love Myself Campaign” that launched back in 2017. As of the latest records, the campaign has raised close to 20 million dollars in the fight against bullying and adolescent violence in Korea.

“Map of the Soul: The Journey” by BTS is slated for release on the 15th of July, 2020.
