Billie Eilish Will Not Discuss Her Love Life in Public, Deal With It

Not long after the release of her soothing, lullaby-like tune on self-discovery, ‘My Future‘, Billie Eilish has been thrust under the spotlight once again. This time around, for the first time, the artist opened up about the fact that she prefers to keep her love life private.

In a recent interview, Billie explained that she’s seen a lot of musicians revel in very public love affairs, but she sees no need to join them. “I definitely want to keep my relationships private. I’ve had relationships and kept them private, and even the ones that I’ve had, with the tiny amount that I’ve let the world see, I regret. I think about it sometimes. I think about the people that have made their relationships public, and then they break up, and it’s like, ‘What if it goes bad?'”

She concluded with,”It’s very much something I’m not interested in.” And yet, when it comes to other aspects of her life, be it the crippling pressures of the industry, her childhood or even mental health – Billie has no qualms about laying her thoughts bare for the world to see. In fact, earlier this year, she put out her heartbreaking single, ‘Everything I Wanted’. This melancholic tune dived into certain suicidal thoughts and how she relied on her brother, Finneas, to bring her back from the edge.

Further, she’s also put out tracks like, ‘Xanny’ that speak of substance abuse or the chart-topping, ‘All The Good Girls Go To Hell’, where she speaks of our abuse of the environment and the fact that the damage has already been done. And yet, it’s completely understandable that Billie has chosen to keep atleast one aspect of her personal life away from the public eye.

During this interview, Billie Eilish also shared her experience on meeting Jennifer Lopez and her daughter. Jennifer has often deemed Billie as one of the most inspiring young talents out there. And her daughter is absolutely obsessed with the rising star. “I watched my daughter freak out over Billie Eilish … She walked in the room after the concert, and my daughter goes [gasps, covering her mouth]. And I looked at her, and I’m like, ‘What’s the matter?’ and she’s, literally, in tears because she’s idolized this girl. For whatever reason, her songs and the words she says she connects to, and she loves her style. Whatever it is moves her,” Lopez explained.

“It made me appreciate what I do more, my fans more, what Billie did for my daughter. All of it, it was like a full circle moment. We love Billie,” she concluded.

And so, Billie Eilish continues to inspire her peers and navigate stardom with all the courage she can pluck up.
