Bad Bunny and His Writing Skills

Bad Bunny is out with new music! His latest album titled,‘YHLQMDLG’, (yup, that’s quite a mouthful) is dropping today, which also happens to be the 29th of February. Great timing there, no doubt!

The singer recently took to the Jimmy Fallon show to reveal a lot of details regarding the album, and here’s what we know; this project features a good 20 songs and the cover art, is absolutely wild. It shows a younger version of the artist, running away from disaster on a bike while he also sports a third eye. 100 points for creativity!

Now, interestingly enough, the title isn’t just a jumble of letters, it’s in fact an acronym which stands for ‘Yo Hoga Lo Que Me Da La Gana’ in Spanish which translates to ‘I do whatever I want.’

The singer has been hinting at the release of this album on twitter for a while now. In fact, earlier on, he had even tweeted the title and track list but had not confirmed anything.

Now, on Fallon’s show the singer also finished an absolutely powerful performance of ‘Ignorantes’, a single from his first album. Bunny even ended the performance by removing his jacket to reveal that he was wearing a skirt that read ‘Mataron A Alexa, no a un hombre con falda’ which means ‘They killed Alexa and not a man in a skirt’ referring to the murder of the transgender, Alexa Luciano Ruiz, in Puerto Rico. The murder has been labelled a hate crime, and a lot of artists and fans alike are still voicing their rage against this kind of violence.

Perhaps, we’ll get a taste of Bad Bunny’s politics in his album too. We’ll just have to wait and see.
