Standing tall under the Xperience Session spotlight this week is the rap phenomenon, Yung Raja. His distinct rap style is one that demands attention and so, we just had to have him onboard with RJ Neerja to shed some light on his musical journey. 

Now, just for some context, Yung Raja (Rajid Ahamed) is a Singaporean rapper and songwriter. He’s recognised for his bilingual rapping style — performing rap music in both Tamil and English. And ultimately, it was this formula that allowed the star to amass fans world over. Like many up and coming rap stars, Raja was first hooked into the genre after being introduced to Eminem. His first listen of the iconic hit, ‘The Real Slim Shady,’ opened up a whole new world for him.

After years of developing a unique style to call his own and building his craft, the artist finally adopted the stage name, Yung Raja, in 2018. Later on in the year, Raja dropped his official debut single, ‘Mustafa’. And it was this tune that really put him on the map. Now, the video stands at more than 2 million views on YouTube. And it’s a clear indicator that Raja’s created a strong impact on the rap landscape.
