BTS Stay Winning With ‘Dynamite’: Look At The Era
BTS dropped their latest English language single, ‘Dynamite’ on August 21, 2020, and since then, have broken the Internet and many records. They managed to even bag their first nomination for Grammy Awards with the track. But, that’s not the only thing they’ve broken.
But, they’ll also be breaking the chart even in the first week of 2021. BTS will manage to sell more than 16,000 digital copies which will, in turn, help them reach the No.1 position on the Billboard song sales chart.
The South Korean group are no strangers to record-breaking and record-making. And, with the release of ‘Dynamite’, as well as the dedicated support of their fan base ARMY, they’ve reigned supreme once again.

They’ve not only gotten nominated for the Grammy Awards this year but also have been all over the news for more. Further, they’ve managed to conquer the Hot 100, Billboard Global 200, and Billboard Global 200 (Excl. US) simultaneously – a first for any South Korean act. So, without further ado, here’s a celebration of their biggest records from the ‘Dynamite’ era.

1. BTS have surpassed BLACKPINK, setting a new record for the most views for a video in 24 hours. The music video for ‘Dynamite’ was viewed 101.1 million times in 1 day.
2. With ‘Dynamite’, the group shattered debut records on Spotify. The song debuted with 12.6 million streams on Spotify, making it the biggest debut in the platform’s history.
3. Following the release of their newest single, the seven member group became the #1 artist on Global Spotify, raking in over 34 million listens.
4. In addition, they also became the first and only South Korean music act to deliver a speech at the 75th United Nations General Assembly.
5. With ‘Dynamite’ becoming the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours, it’s also become the fastest music video to cross 100 million views in YouTube history.
6. The latest English single debuted at #1 on the Global Spotify chart with the biggest first day streams of any song released in 2020 – 77.7 million streams.
7. Further, ‘Dynamite’ has become the fastest song in iTunes history to reach 90+ countries worldwide, achieving those numbers in the first 5 hours of its release.
8. With the latest release being an English language song, BTS are now the first group to have songs in 3 different languages – Korean and Japanese, too – to reach No. 1 on iTunes.
9. In addition, BTS have surpassed BLACKPINK in yet another record, achieving the largest audience for a live stream in YouTube history – over 4 million viewers.
10. Further, within 20 minutes of the release of ‘Dynamite’, the music video raked in 10 million views, becoming the fastest music video to achieve 10 million views in YouTube history.
