Dolly wanted Miley to play ‘Jolene’

Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus have always shared a wonderful relationship and we always hope to see more of it!

Dolly Parton’s life will be showcased in Netflix’s new anthology series, ‘Heartstrings’ where Julianne Hough will be playing the role of ‘Jolene’

The legend recently revealed that she originally wanted her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus, to be cast as Jolene. “Years back when I used to think of Jolene, you know, before Julianne came on, I used to think… I’d love — Miley would have been great at that as well,” she said. “But Miley was doing other things. We wanted it to be someone that kind of was described in the song, with auburn hair, ivory skin, the emerald green eyes, all she[Miley] had to do was put on this beautiful red hair and she was the most beautiful Jolene you could ever, ever get.”

Dolly Parton has showed her constant love and support to Miley, even when she appeared on the Disney hit show “Hannah Montana” as Miley’s aunt. The godmother/goddaughter duo took the stage by storm during last year’s Grammy Awards as they sang Dolly Parton’s biggest hits.

Catch ‘Jolene’ on Netflix’s ‘Heartstrings’ – an 8 episode series which is set to premier on November 22nd, this year.

Hello ‘artist of the year’ Taylor Swift

Having bagged the greatest number of AMAs than anybody this decade, Taylor Swift definitely deserves the title of ‘Artist of the Decade’ this year at the 2019 American Music Awards.

Swift has bagged 23 AMA wins, being the only female artist in the history of the American Music Awards to do so. This year, she has been nominated for Artist of the Year, Favorite Music Video, Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock, Favorite Album – Pop/Rock and Favorite Artist – Adult Contemporary. If T-Swift wins at least two awards from her nominations this year, she will go on to beat Michael Jackson’s record for the most AMA wins of all time.

‘dick clark Productions’ and ABC announced the award on October 30th, revealing that the superstar will take the stage to perform her biggest hits of her more-than-a-decade-long career. “Taylor’s impact on music this decade is undeniable and her performances on the American Music Awards have been truly spectacular,” Mark Bracco, Executive Vice President of Programming & Development at ‘dick clark Productions’ said in a press statement.

The 2019 American Music Awards is set to take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 24th and Taylor Swift is among the many artists we can’t wait to see on stage!
