On 8th May, Neerathon 5.0 was hosted by St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Bengaluru to raise awareness about water conservation.
This year, there were 1200 participants for the 2Km and 5km run. The youngest participant was a seven-and-a-half-year-old. The marathon was also the first one for many kids which essentially shows their interests towards the social changes in and around the society. Many kids ran along with their parents and completed the 2-km run in few minutes.
The marathon started at 6:15 a.m. After the race, the participants were presented with medals and certificates. The majority of the runners were St. Joseph’s Autonomous College students and most of them were second or third year students participating in the marathon as part of their outreach. IndigoMusic.com was the official radio station.
