Camila caught in Trouble !

Camila Cabello’s coming under fire over accusations of ‘copying’ Halsey with her Romance merch and aesthetic.

The new album was quick to soar to the top and received widespread praise from fans and critics alike. However, a series of backlash followed as people criticised the pop singer for similarities between her Romance teasers and work by Halsey and Lana Del Rey, then they called her out for ‘ripping off’ Marina with Cry for Me and now she’s being accused of ‘stealing’ from Halsey with her Romance merch and aesthetic in general.

Following the release of Romance, a number of tweets went viral comparing Camila’s merch to Halsey’s. Camila is selling a ribcage t-shirt with a heart in it, similar to Halsey’s ribcage t-shirt with a butterfly in it and she also put out a stabbed heart t-shirt on sale, similar to a Halsey stabbed heart-t-shirt. Oops.

It got out of hand and beyond obvious when people began pointing out that the comparisons even go beyond merch. Camila has also seemed to have used font, tarot cards and a baroque aesthetic similar to Halsey’s hopeless fountain kingdom era.

Things out intense when Halsey’s visual designer Garrett Hilliker joined and weighed in on the comparisons. He tweeted a set of photos comparing various Camila Cabello merch items and visuals to ones which Halsey had released beforehand. He also tweeted out photos comparing Camila’s recent performance visuals to Halsey’s. He then directly called out Camila’s visual designer Amber Park for ‘stealing’ from him.

As of now, Camila and Amber are yet to address the ongoings while the war of words stands to hold.

Paying Tribute to Marie Fredriksson

Roxette singer, Marie Fredriksson, died after a 17-year long battle with cancer. She was 61 years old. Fredriksson collapsed after a workout in 2002, following which she was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

The Swedish star achieved major success in the 1990s with bandmate Per Gessle. After staying off the stage for a few years, owing to treatment, she bounced back in 2008 and continued touring with Roxette until three years ago.

Gessle issued a statement which said, “Thank you, Marie, thanks for everything. You were an outstanding musician, a master of the voice, an amazing performer. Thanks for painting my black and white songs in the most beautiful colours. You were the most wonderful friend for over 40 years.”

We remember the three songs that skyrocketed the Swedish star to fame and kept Roxette’s songs on the lips of people for decades. Today, we look back at some of her iconic moments on stage; she will live on forever.

‘Listen To Your Heart’ by Roxette stole everyone’s hearts and the live performance of the same in Santiago back in 2012 is one of their most iconic performances as it connected beyond boundaries.

‘It Must Have Been Love’ by the Swedidh pop duo became one of their most successful power ballads and this live rendition in Berlin proves it all the way.

‘The Look’ stands to be Roxette’s defining chartbusters and the live performance at the O2 Arena in London got the crowd swooning beyond belief.
